In this workshop you will learn the important basics of modeling with clay. You will be taught by absolute professionals who also teach our students. Before you start, you will receive “step by step” instructions and will be introduced to the methodology and materials. The theory of proportions of the human head is studied and immediately put into practice. Using a professional, prefabricated portrait armature, the workshop participant models a portrait of a live model within five days. During the course of the workshop we work intensively on the methodology of the “hard and soft” transition phases as well as on the structure and texture of our work. Everything is included, from building the profile line to finding the volume. Part of the workshop is teaching the individual materials, arm styles, modeling woods and techniques.
Enjoy working with your hands and be interested in learning about an ancient artistic craft. For everything else, you will receive further information by e-mail after your registration.
Please note that the sculpture you will create in this workshop will not be a final object. You can, for example, learn how to make a casting mold in our separate casting workshop or, if you want to preserve your sculpture, take it to a local distillery. We can also give you recommendations if you would like to have a mold made.
(Material costs such as clay and fittings are already included in the price. If you need modeling wood, you can buy it from us on site).
