Who is this course for?

This workshop is for participants who already have some drawing knowledge, as well as participants who are inspired by fine drawings, especially from the northern Renaissance.

What will I learn?

How to Use A Silverpoint Pen

Silverpoint has the characteristics of being much more subtle than pencil or charcoal while remaining a stronger permanence. When drawing with silverpoint, every line is a thought. With this technique your eyes will be trained to be more accurate when drawing or painting. We will also teach you which old master and contemporary methods to correct your mistakes.

Worth Knowing

There are many practical reasons why Renaissance artists used silverpoint, for example as a study of light and shadow in a portrait or for underdrawings directly on the canvas. In this workshop you will learn how to integrate these techniques into your own drawing practice.
