Who is this course for?
This workshop is for participants that are experienced in oil painting. It’s built on the Portrait Drawing Workshop and Oil Painting Basics Workshop.
What will I learn?
Anatomy & Understanding of Form
In this workshop you’ll learn the fundamentals of the anatomy of the human skull, which is important for understanding form and facial expressions in portraiture.
Color Theory and Skin Tones
You’ll learn how to create an effective skin color palette, and which colors are suitable for oil paint portraiture.
Practicing from a Life Model
Step-by-step you’ll be guided through the process of painting from a life model – paired with theory blocks about likeness and expression.

Process & schedule
- 5-day long workshop, 30 hours of lessons in total
- Class times: Monday-Friday from 9:30-16:30
- Lunch break: 12:30-13:30
- Language: German and/or English, depending on individual language skills
