Who is this course for?
This workshop is for everyone who wants to learn how to draw portraits of life models or wants to deepen their understanding of it. If you’re a beginner without any experience, we recommend you do the Drawing Basics workshop beforehand.
What will I learn?
Anatomy and Understanding of Form
In this workshop, you’ll get to know the structure of the human head. For you will draw a skull as an exercise to better understand and capture form and facial expressions.
Measurement Techniques
Furthermore, you’ll be working directly from the life model and use measurement techniques to accurately capture their proportions.
Form, Volume, Line Quality and Tonalities
With step-by-step instructions by our professional and experienced teachers you’ll learn how to use light and shadow to create depth and character.

Process & schedule
- 5-day long workshop, 30 hours of lessons in total
- Class times: Monday-Friday from 9:30-16:30
- Lunch break: 12:30-13:30
- Language: German and/or English, depending on individual language skills

Materials needed
Before the Workshop starts, we’ll give you a list with the exact materials you are going to need. These consist of paper, pencils or kneadable erasers among other things.
If you want to have it easier, you could also buy our Starter Set Drawing and get all of the materials you need at the start of your workshop.
