Who is this course for?
This workshop is for beginners with no or little experience. You will learn how to handle oil paints easily and safely – ideal for your first steps with this medium.
What will I learn?
Materials
At first, you’ll be introduced to the most important materials like oil paints, brushes and painting grounds – that way you’ll know what you really need and what to look out for.
Exercises in Black and White
Based on two exercises which are done in black and white (also called Grisaille) you’ll learn how to properly mix, apply and blend oil paints. This will be a great way to get to know the painting process.
Cold and Warm Colors
Further along, you’ll be introduced to warm and cold colors and how to recognize, mix and use them. In the last exercise you will draw a small still life and apply what you’ve learned.
Process & schedule
- 5-day long workshop, 30 hours of lessons in total
- Class times: Monday-Friday from 9:30-16:30
- Lunch break: 12:30-13:30
- Language: German and/or English, depending on individual language skills
