Who is this course for?
This workshop is for everyone who wants to get better at figure and portrait drawing or painting. Depending on your skill level, you’ll be able to choose if you want to start with drawing or painting.
What will I learn?
Anatomy and Understanding of Form
In this workshop you’ll start with the basics of human anatomy, and you’ll learn how to simplify the complex shapes of the human body. Through targeted exercises you’ll internalize important proportions and structures.
Working with Models and Measurement Methods
You will practice working with real-life models and explore various measurement techniques to draw or paint with precision and realism.
Light, Shadow and Color Design
You’ll learn how light and shadow create volume, and how—depending on the technique—you can use tonal gradations or color palettes to depict skin tones and depth.
Process & schedule
- 10-day long workshop, 60 hours of lessons in total
- Class times: Monday-Friday from 9:30-16:30
- Lunch break: 12:30-13:30
- Language: German and/or English, depending on individual language skills

Materials needed
Before the Workshop starts, we’ll give you a list with the exact materials you are going to need. These consist of paper, pencils or kneadable erasers among other things.
If you want to have it easier, you could also buy our Starter Set Drawing and get all of the materials you need at the start of your workshop.
