Who is this course for?
This workshop is for everyone who wants to learn classic painting techniques and dive into the traditions of the old masters – focusing on egg tempera painting.
What will I learn?
Materials
You’ll learn the basics of egg tempera, from its history to picking the right pigments, binder and painting grounds. We will also explain how egg tempera paints differentiate from modern paints.
Painting Technique
In the practical part of this course, you will learn how to mix egg tempera paints yourself, how to apply them working with light, shadow and details. We will teach you how to recognize typical mistakes and how you can correct them using the old masters’ methods.

- 5-day long workshop, 30 hours of lessons in total
- Class times: Monday-Friday from 9:30-16:30
- Lunch break: 12:30-13:30
- Language: German and/or English, depending on individual language skills
