Who is this course for?
For participants with prior experience in digital drawing – ideal as a follow-up to the Digital Drawing Basics. A background in traditional drawing or painting is beneficial.
What will I learn?
Anatomy & Fundamentals
We begin by focusing on the structure of the human head. You'll draw the skull from various angles to understand the anatomical foundation of the face.
Studies & Color Design
We overlay skull drawings onto reference templates, create small head studies, tonal exercises, and color studies – guiding you step by step toward realistic portrait drawing.
Exploring Expression
You’ll explore facial expressions, experiment with stylization techniques, and create a rendered portrait based on a reference model of your choice.

Process & schedule
- 5-day long workshop, 30 hours of lessons in total
- Class times: Monday-Friday from 9:30-16:30
- Lunch break: 12:30-13:30
- Language: German and/or English, depending on individual language skills

Materials needed
To participate in this workshop, you'll need a PC, laptop, tablet, or iPad. We recommend using Adobe Photoshop or Procreate. A 7-day free trial of Photoshop is available for download shortly before the workshop begins.
