Who is this course for?
This workshop is for participants who already have some drawing knowledge. Optimally, it connects to our Drawing Basics Workshop and can be done directly following it or with a break in between.
What will I learn?
Materials
You’ll learn everything about how to use charcoal to draw, how to sharpen it correctly, what hardness you use for what and how to create clean transitions and layers
Because there are different kinds of charcoal and paper, we will also explain what you need to keep in mind when buying them. Lastly, we show you how to varnish your drawing to make it last longer.
Measurement Methods
Through continuous practice, you will become more confident in applying measurement techniques. Your eye will be trained, you will recognize mistakes more quickly, and you will learn how to correct yourself. In addition, you will receive practical tips to capture and improve proportions and tonal values with precision.
Process & schedule
- 5-day long workshop, 30 hours of lessons in total
- Class times: Monday-Friday from 9:30-16:30
- Lunch break: 12:30-13:30
- Language: German and/or English, depending on individual language skills

Materials needed
Before the Workshop starts, we’ll give you a list with the exact materials you are going to need. These consist of paper, pencils or kneadable erasers among other things.
If you want to have it easier, you could also buy our Starter Set Drawing and get all of the materials you need at the start of your workshop.
