Who is this course for?

Perfect for anyone who has never painted with oils or is looking for more structure and a solid foundation in oil painting. This course combines essential fundamentals with an advanced workshop of your choice – such as still life in oil or Old Master copies.

What will I learn?

Foundation of Oli Painting

Learn to work confidently with materials such as painting surfaces, oil paints, medium, and brushes. The goal is to build a solid foundation – including how to clean and prepare your tools properly.

Color Theory & Light-Shadow Techniques

Through targeted exercises, you'll develop an understanding of warm and cool colors, learn how to use them intentionally, and shape light and shadow to create depth and spatial presence. By the end of the week, you'll complete your first small still life.

Specialization in Your Chosen Workshop

In the second week, you'll deepen your skills in a focus area of your choice – either Still Life Oil Painting or Old Master Copy. You'll work with extended color palettes and explore classical painting techniques to further expand your understanding.

10-day long workshop, 60 hours of lessons in total
Class times: Monday-Friday from 9:30-16:30
Lunch break: 12:30-13:30
Language: German and/or English, depending on individual language skills
